OUR STORY
My story started, with the luv of movies as a kid. Staying up late watching Godzilla movies at midnight. Back in the 1960's, we only had three tv stations, and you had to look at the local newspaper or tv guide to see when a movie was going to show, and if you missed it, your out of luck :(.
Then, going to a Amazing theater as a kid watching James Bond movies and Planet of the Apes at a Plaza Theater, a Beautiful masterpiece built in 1930, as was grand to watch movies there.
Also the Beautiful memories of going to the Drive-in movies as a kid, was always so exciting.
Then my first experience at a Video Store in Phoenix Az, and renting this new device called a VCR and VHS tape, It was WOW! can watch anytime and stop anytime, back in the early 80's the movie selection was very limited.

OUR MISSION
At I Luv Videos, our mission is to entertain, educate, and inspire our viewers with every video we create. Whether you're looking for comedy, drama, or something in between, we've got you covered.
I had a new mission, to continue its community and culture of physical media to the people of Austin Texas.
After two years of cataloging and storing the collection, I was contacted by Macy Cotton, who shared my same vision and wanted to keep the collection to the film of Austin, thus "We Luv Video" was created by her. As Austin's only Video Store and Non-profit to serve and protect the collection.

OUR HERITAGE
The story started to take form, when my Brother, Chuck started to hang out at a Video store called Sounds Easy down the street from our house in Mesa Az. They soon gave him and job, and before you knew it, they ask if I wanted to manage another location for them. I was truly in luv with the business. A about a year later, saved $7,000 and open a Video Store called London Video in Dobie Mall in Austin Texas in 1984. I soon discovered, a video store in a mall was a bad idea. Sold it, and open the first I Luv video way across down on Slaughter & Manchaca rd.
The new store location took off! and saved enough money, in a year to open a 2nd location on Airport Blvd, this location did amazing, and was able to open 2 other locations, Burnet and 2222, Benwhite a couple years later.
During the 1980's and very early 90's was local and later National Video Stores. When Blockbuster showed up in Austin in the early 90's, you started to witness its destruction on the small Mom & Pops video store's.
The stores were affected, but help us push through was our on going film collection, for the unusual, weird, cult, foreign movies, Blockbuster's wouldn't touch.
We did try a new concept call I Luv Video Pizza for a number of years. Beautiful stores, that made hand made pizza to order, and had beer, and would deliver Pizza, beer, Vcr and vhs tape movies to your place. We did this concept at two locations in town, Braker and IH35, and Slaughter and Manchaca. We continue this concept for a number of years, until decided to sell and close the pizza locations and concentrate on the other video store locations. Over the 35 years, open 9 different locations in Austin. The last location in Austin was the Airport blvd, where all the inventory from all the pervious stores location came together.
As most stores around the country and world closed during covid, As I Luv Video did.
